GUARANO – Negroamaro Appassimento IGP 🍷

An intense red from the most authentic Puglia

🔴 Traditional Appassimento | 🌿 100% Negroamaro | 🍇 Late harvest

Guarano is a red wine of character born from the ancient technique of on-the-vine drying of Negroamaro grapes, an indigenous Apulian variety cultivated using the alberello (bush-trained) method in the countryside of Cellino San Marco (Brindisi).

Sensory profile

An intense ruby red with garnet reflections that heralds a complex and enveloping aromatic bouquet: notes of wild berry jam (blackberries, raspberries), sweet spices (vanilla, tobacco), milk chocolate, hints of leather, and elegant balsamic touches of eucalyptus.

On the palate, it is velvety, structured, and balanced, with soft tannins and a long, persistent finish. The perfect balance between freshness, body, and alcohol makes it ideal for those seeking an important yet harmonious wine.

Vinification and aging

  • Hand-picked selection (first ten days of October)
  • Maceration on the skins for 12-15 days
  • Malolactic fermentation and aging in French barriques
  • Final rest in stainless steel

Organoleptic notes 🍷

🔴 Compact ruby red with light vermilion hues. The on-the-vine drying gives the nose a rich range of aromas. In succession: 🫐 blackberry and raspberry jam, 🌺 pot-pourri of flowers and red berries, vanilla, sweet tobacco, 🍫 milk chocolate, leather in the background, while the balsamic note of eucalyptus 🌿 is subtle but refined. The tactile sensation of the perceived tannin is velvety. The balance and harmony of this wine are found in the total counterweight between freshness, tannins, and the significant alcohol content. Long and persistent finish ✨.

Food pairings 🍽️
